Alestorm at The Wiltern

Alestorm is a five-member metal band from Perth, Scotland. The band signed with Napalm Records in 2007 and released their debut effort, Captain Morgan’s Revenge. Alestorm’s unique “pirate metal” concept has earned them notoriety and praise from their massive fanbase. Early in their career, band members Christopher Bowes and Gavin Harper intended the band to perform traditional power metal music. They later infused some folk elements and adopted a pirate to set themselves apart. In 2009, the band broke into Billboard’s Heatseekers chart with their sophomore effort Black Sails at Midnight.

In 2014, Alestorm succeeded internationally with their fourth record, Sunset, on the Golden Age. The album entered three US Billboard categories and the charts in five other countries, including the U.K. Three years later, they achieved their first number 1 record upon releasing No Grave But Sea. The album topped the Heatseekers chart and peaked at number 5 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart. Moreover, the album also entered the charts in seven other countries.

Last year, Alestorm dropped four music videos from their latest album, Seventh Rum of a Seventh Rum. The record was recorded with the band’s longtime producer, Lasse Lammert.
