At the time when the word "viral" was coined to mean a phenomenally fast internet trend, the song "Pumped Up Kicks" came out and no adjective could have been more apt to describe it. Audiences were literally hooked from start to finish. Soon afterward, Foster The People became a household name.

In 2009, a commercial jingle writer by day and a struggling musician by night, Mark Foster formed a band that currently consists of himself as lead vocalist lead guitarist Sean Cimino, keyboardist Isom Innis, and drummer Mark Pontius. Originally named Foster & The People which was misheard it as "Foster The People", they all agreed to stick to it as it conjures the thought of "taking care" of people.

As "Pumped Up Kicks" went viral on the internet and the airwaves were filled with its infectious, head-bobbing, and feet-stopping inducing beats and rhythms, the song zoomed up to the No. 3 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Soon afterward, Foster The People were collecting music awards. They received three Grammy Award nominations for their debut album Torches and "Pumped Up Kicks". The band got 35 award nominations and took home 5 awards which include the 2011 WEQX Award for Song of the Year, the 2011 SharkOne Award for New Artist of the Year, the 2012 Billboard music award for Top Rock Song, and the 2013 MVPA Awards for Best Director of a Band and Best Computer Effects. And yes, their debut album "Torches" was a mammoth commercial success, reaching the platinum mark.

Ten years of "Torches" yet fans are still hooked! Party with Foster The People and celebrate this amazing feat. Hurry, book your tickets now!
