The show was filmed live at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre. Over the next few years, he dropped several follow-up comedy specials, including the highly-rated Being Funny and Laughing and Joking. In 2016, Carr signed a deal with Netflix and released three comedy specials, Funny Business, The Best Of, Ultimate, Gold, Greatest Hits, and his latest work, His Dark Material.
Carr’s 26-year career has earned him numerous accolades, including a Royal Television Society Award and a Rose D’Or Nomination for Best Presenter. His stand-up comedy career has also resulted in multiple awards, from Time Out Award, British Comedy Award, and five LAFTA Awards.
In addition to appearing in shows, Carr has extensively toured the globe. In 2003, he embarked on his first stand-up tour, Charm Offensive. He has moved on to completing ten global tours, including the critically-acclaimed Funny Business in 2014. In 2019, Carr launched his new tour, Terribly Funny, but it was halted due to the pandemic. In 2022, he resumed the tour and extended it until 2023, due to public demand.
