Lizzy McAlpine is a singer-songwriter who emerged in 2016. She left her school, Berklee College of Music, to pursue her career as a solo artist. In 2018, McAlpine dropped her debut EP Indigo. Two years later, she released her debut album, Give Me A Minute. While writing the music for her debut work studio effort, McAlpine was studying in Spain, which also served as a major inspiration for her work. Give Me A Minute was met with wide critical acclaim and amassed millions of listens across various streaming platforms. McAlpine made her TV debut at Jimmy Kimmell Live! to promote her album and perform her single, “Erase Me.” At the show, she was regarded as an “up-and-coming vocalist at the show.”
McAlpine recently went viral on Tiktok when her unreleased song, “You Ruined the 1975,” garnered eight million views. In 2022, McAlpine dropped her sophomore album, Five Seconds Flat. The album peaked at number 5 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and number 9 on the Alternative New Artist Albums, and number 19 on Top New Alternative Artists. The album was preceded by highly-acclaimed singles, including “Erase Me” with Jacob Collier,” “Hate to Be Lame” by Finneas, and “Reckless Driving” with Ben Kessler.
