Perfume Genius, alongside Hand Habits, come to The Wiltern on Sunday 20th March 2022 as part of their upcoming headlining tour supporting their studio album, “Set My Heart On Fire Immediately”. Hand Habits will support Perfume Genius as collaborators on all of the dates. This will be the first event of the tour at the Wiltern and will conclude on 7th April in New York City. Michael Alden Hadreas, known as Perfume Genius, is an American musician born in 1981. His musical style is unique and explores challenging topics such as domestic abuse, sexuality, his battle with Crohn’s disease and how gay men face significant issues in the current society. As soon as he steps on the stage, he promises a soulful, straight from the heart performance. His lyrics are written with a purpose, and the artist ensures that he delivers them right when he’s in front of an audience.
Perfume Genius released his debut album in 2010 with Matador Records in the U.S and Turnstile Records in Europe. The album was an instant hit and received critical acclaim from various music commentators. Pitchfork rated the album 8.2 out of 10. He performed his first live show when he opened for A Sunny Day in Glasgow at the Vera Project in Seattle. Hand Habits also recently released a new video for their single, The Answer. The Answer is part of their latest album, “Fun House”.
